FATHERS CLUB SERVICE PROJECT

The Good Shepherd School Father’s Club is hosting its first service project.  This is a wonderful opportunity to bond with other dads over a shared commitment to being men of service.
The event is June 3rd at Dolores Mission in Boyle Heights at 5:30pm.  The fathers will be preparing and serving a meal to 53 homeless men.  Each man who participates will also be asked to contribute a small amount to pay for the cost of the food (about $10 per father).
Freeman Michaels, father of Isabella Michaels (1st grade) and Antonio Michaels (3rd grade) will be coordinating the event.  If you are interested in participating, and/or have any questions please respond to him directly at freemanpmichaels@gmail.com.

Student Council

Campaigning for executive office, commissioners, and class representatives begins on Monday the 13th and goes through May 16th. Speeches for executive offices and commissioners will be on O’Ryan hall at 10:15am. Parents are welcome to join us. Class representative speeches will be held in their own classrooms on May 16th.

Drop-Off & Pick-Up Procedures

Students will be dismissed from the school yard at the end of the day. They will wait in lines and face the alley. When you pick up your children, you will need to:

1.        K- 8th Grade Parents will drive NORTH on McCarty Drive

2.        Turn left into the alley near the parking structure.

3.        Turn left and drive SOUTH in the alley behind the school. Please DO NOT PARK or STOP in the alley to wait for your children.

4.        Display your “school bus tag” on your dashboard to identify who you are picking up and to assist the teachers in getting children into cars.

5.        After you have picked up your child, continue SOUTH in the alley and exit onto Charleville Blvd.

6.        There will be NO PARKING in front of the school. Only Pre-school students and their siblings will use this area for dismissal. If you wish to walk in and pick up your children, you will need to park in a designated zone on a street and enter the school gate via the alley.

NOTE: If it is raining heavily, pickup will be in front of the building.
