CRUSADER MONTHLY NEWSLETTER

May 2012

From the Principal’s Desk

As the school year winds down, our days and weeks are filled with activities. The month of May is traditionally dedicated to the Blessed Mother and we will have our annual May Procession and Crowning on Wednesday, May 16th at Good Shepherd Church at 10:15. Thanks to the 2nd and 8th Graders who will be participating in this event. The 2nd Graders will receive their First Communion on Saturday, May 5th and will have the opportunity to process in their First Communion outfits again and all the students will walk to Church for the May Procession. Please join us for this special occasion.

We have many more end-of-the-year events approaching and we encourage any of you who can to join us for these activities. On Friday May 18th, we encourage you to participate in our Annual Follies (Talent Show). This evening always proves to be entertaining for all as we are continually amazed at the talent we have in our school! During the week of May 21st, we will have Student Council campaigns and elections for the 2012-2013 officers. Leadership training is an important aspect of the quality education we offer at Good Shepherd and something the high schools look for in accepting students to their schools. We wish all the candidates the best of luck!

Our Spring Carnival was a huge success and I know most of you were here last Sunday for the fun and games. Special thanks to Karen Bell and all her helpers for organizing the event. It was truly a fun day. Now we look forward to the Golf Tournament on May 9th and thank Mario Martinez for his efforts in planning this event.

Finally, Happy Mother’s Day to all our wonderful mothers who continually give their best to their children. We couldn’t survive without the help we receive from all the mothers of our students! We are grateful for you and all you do!
